My Happiness – Dr. Lalthangmoi Hmar

Today, I am happy in the morning

When I see my daffodils and periwinkles,

My honey-suckles and my Azaleas;

All wishing me a beaming “Good morning”.

My cacti cautioned me, “be careful”.

My better-half there to lend ears.

Yesterday, I was happy in the morn’

When I saw my all, woke up from one billet.

My lively children made their presence felt

With their cry and laughter all mingled.

Embraced challenges with fingers crossed

I juggled between work and home.

Tomorrow I aspire to be happy.

Life is the same. Be it past, present or future.

Wise man says, ‘tis all the way you look at.

I’ll always look through a tinted glass.

Smothering out the tiny rumples,

Because love will surround me through.
