The Mansion – Dr. Thangmoi Hmar

A home was built by a roadside
Labelled as “The Mansion” with grateful heart
By the man who built it;
Because the home has its foundation
On ‘The rock of ages’.
He being the main pillar,
And the supporting structures are his family.

Happy days were spent by all within;
Who had crossed the threshold of the mansion.
A refuge for the poor;
Life of fruitful service to mankind,
Is the norm of the home.
So, the Pillar stood firm,
Braced up by all its structures on “The solid rock”.

Days glide by with magical wings.
Then Lo! The inevitable signs rose.
The Pillar aged and shook;
Dark stormy cloud engulf the mansion.
Resisted blow by blow
By the Pillar and all.
The structures resurge to maintain the equilibrium.

Alas! But, who can change His will?
The maker, who can stall the herald of the trumpet call
The greens withered and fall,
The hinges got loose, the walls cracked and fall
On cloak of gloom and fear.
The Pillar was relieved
Of his burden to rest in the mansion above.
